I wonder where it is today. It’s a fairly rare car even without the TV history so I’d think it still exists in either a restored state or preserved as it was in the show.

When they revived the series on ABC the original car was owned by a couple in Indiana who leased it back to the studio.

I wonder how many they used total? I know it was three on the original series, and they leased one of them back for the ‘80s revival, but, Falk himself supposedly purchased two for the series of made for TV movie s they did in the ‘90s/early ‘00s.

And I do believe there was one episode in the original series where the car was in a really nasty rear end collision that most likely totaled it, presumably that was yet another stunt car rather than one of the three they routinely used.
